How To Get Custom Made Wristbands And Accessories Stamped With Your Logo |

Information About Custom Logos and Designs on Leather Wristbands, Belts, Chokers and MoreIf you have a need for a leather wristband or other accessory specially designed with an engraved or, more accurately, embossed logo, Leatherpunk has the expertise you need. I've presented this page so that you can fully understand the process in which I have experience and consider to be the most practical method to place a specific graphic onto leather, no matter if it's a wristband, belt, wallet or virtually any leather accessory you desire. To begin, and to clear any misconceptions, the design is NOT carved into the leather by hand in the way you would draw, or do a tattoo. The logo is delivered in one single strike of a mallet (or press) with a metal stamp,(shown below) that rests on the leather. When struck, it depresses the logo onto the leather. The design or logo can be anything you want! The appearance of the stamps may be familiar to you, with the readily available alphabet stamp kits,(also below) commonly used to stamp someone's name into a belt and uses interchangeable heads. The metals used in most alphabet kits are of lesser quality and lack the ability to create a crisp, precision design. You can clearly see the difference in quality between the two. The metal stamps I use are made from a high grade steel and are meant to be used for thousands of strikes.

The cost of a small and basic custom stamp will start at about $100. So for someone who's planning on making 10, 20, 100, or more items, it's a little more practical than if you wanted just one finished product. The logo must be applied to the leather early on in the creation phase of whatever it is you're making, before the leather undergoes any dye or finishing coat treatments. That means whoever makes the finished product must also have the stamp. Not all leathers can be used to take impressions, some won't hold the impression permanently, and some won't even dent at all when you attmept to apply the impression. Typically, you see this occur with pre dyed leathers, oil/drum dyed tannage(which, oddly enough, is used in alot of wristbands). Fortunately, most of Leatherpunk's leather is of the variety needed to successfully tool your designs for you. It's important to mention that adding a logo doesn't press colors into the leather. That would require some type of screen printing. When you have a logo or design that you truely appreciate, its a marvel to see it professionally struck into a fine leather garment. To the left, you see a standard 1/4" alphabet set. There are companies who can make custom logo stamps using this style of fabrication, and the cost is considerably cheaper. They simply lack the ability to take intricate artwork and transpose it on a quality stamp and for that reason, I don't recommend this option. |
